We recently attended our industry’s annual trade exhibition at the NEC, a must-visit event for anyone in the workwear and branded clothing industry. This exhibition brings together clothing manufacturers, wholesalers, embroidery and print machine suppliers, as well as consumable providers – all under one roof. It’s always a fantastic opportunity to explore new products, discover emerging trends, and connect with key suppliers who help us deliver high-quality workwear to our customers.
Why This Exhibition Matters to Us
Attending the NEC show is an essential part of our year. It gives us direct access to the latest innovations in workwear and garment decoration, allowing us to stay ahead of industry developments. We always come away from the event with fresh ideas and inspiration, whether it’s new product ranges, cutting-edge decoration techniques, or sustainable solutions that align with the changing demands of businesses.
Exciting Trends & Innovations
As expected, this year’s event was packed with exciting new developments:
🔹 Advancements in Transfer Printing – One of the standout highlights was the latest technology in transfer printing. This area of the industry has seen rapid growth, and the improvements in print quality are incredible. The durability, vibrancy, and precision of transfer prints are better than ever, making them a great option for businesses looking for high-quality, detailed designs on their workwear.
🔹 100 Colours & Counting! – One of our suppliers, known for their best-selling hoodie, has expanded their colour range to a staggering 100 different shades! This gives businesses even more variety when choosing custom-branded apparel, from classic corporate tones to modern pastel shades and bold, eye-catching hues.
🔹 The Growing Demand for Sustainable Clothing – Sustainability remains a top priority for manufacturers. The shift towards organic cotton and recycled polyester is continuing to gain momentum, with many suppliers expanding their eco-friendly collections. Not only are there more sustainable product choices, but we’re also seeing improvements in size inclusivity and colour variety across these ranges.
🔹 Branded Socks – The Unexpected Trend! – A new trend we’ve noticed in the last couple of years is custom-branded socks. Several suppliers at the exhibition showcased bespoke socks featuring company logos, catering to businesses looking for unique promotional products. Whether it’s sports socks for teams or formal socks for corporate branding, it’s an exciting area that’s gaining popularity. While minimum order quantities apply, this could be a great option for businesses wanting a creative and practical branded item.
Gaining Knowledge & Insights
Beyond the product displays, we also attended some interesting seminars covering new decoration techniques and best practices for workwear branding. These sessions provided valuable insights into getting the most out of new technologies, helping us refine our processes and continue offering the best possible results for our customers.
A Productive Day for Top Marques!
All in all, it was a fantastic day out of the office, packed with valuable takeaways. From discovering new products to learning about emerging trends in sustainability and customisation, we’re excited to bring these insights back to our customers. Whether it’s expanding colour choices, improving branding techniques, or exploring fresh product ideas, we’re always looking for ways to offer the best in workwear and custom branding.
